What exactly is DNS?

DNS is like the internet’s phonebook, it translates www addresses to numbers that your computer can understand.

Our DNS servers are no different, your computer sends a request, our servers give it the answer it’s looking for.
For known advertising and malicious addresses however, we send your computer to one of our servers, eliminating the ads and threats! For Netflix, Hulu, Pandora etc. the part of the connection to servers that check where your computer is located, is rerouted through our servers.
We only redirect that part, nothing else. The movies and music you stream from those sites are transferred directly between you and the content providers. That’s why switching Netflix regions and the like with our service is much faster than any alternatives such as proxies or VPNs.
And it’s pretty easy for you to set up yourself!
